A series of classes on the HISTORY OF THE ART AND ARCHITECTURE OF THE CATHEDRAL OF THE MADELEINE will be offered in September. Lectures and slide presentations will focus on the history of Christian art and architecture including painting, sculpture, and stained-glass windows from the Early Christian era to the Renaissance with particular emphasis on how the decorative elements of the Cathedral of the Madeleine reflect the influence of the past. The classes are free and open to the public. The final session will be a tour of the cathedral. Those interested in becoming tour guides are warmly welcome.
